Our Story

Elina's Version

Tinder, 2020. A guy called Peter had two sentences on his profile in English “Looking for someone to go on to gastronomical adventures with. Polyglot”. I thought the latter was rather pretentious, but I like languages myself and I’m a foodie. So I sent a gif from the Atypical series where the main character asks “what is your favorite meal?” and Peter answered with an essay-length response that specified the wine and dessert. I was standing next to my sister’s dresser thinking “there’s definitely something here!”. Our first date was the first of November, one and half days after our first discussion. Our relationship started officially a few weeks later and we confessed our love to each other on New Year’s Eve, and here we are.

Peter's Version

It was a rainy October weekday between jobs. After too much gaming and in a state of lack of focus, I fired up a dating app. Her profile was a breath of fresh air: kind eyes, dogs, and actual substance. Despite my own lackluster profile, she messaged first about my ideal meal. I replied with a semi-pretentious three-course plan, and the conversation flowed since. On the third day, we met. She teased me for staring when I was awestruck seeing her for the first time. When COVID rules closed the bar early, we walked through pitch-black streets to grab cider from my place, before meeting her dog and talking until dawn. After a post-hangover pizza date the next day, the rest was history. We haven’t spent much time apart since.
